# Dia assistant

Click **Ask AI** at the bottom of the toolbar to open Dia.

## What Dia can do

* Add, edit, move, resize, duplicate, lock, and delete blocks.
* Group blocks into composites and connect them with arrows.
* Find photos, video, songs, and sound effects.
* Read links, PDFs, and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files, and search the web.
* Summarize the board. Dia sees the current board, including nested boards.

Dia links the blocks it mentions so you can jump to them. Undo any change from the header.

## Get started

Try a starter: **Find the thread**, **Bring some order**, or **Make connections**. Or describe what you want: what to add, where, and how to arrange it.

To ask about one block, right-click it and choose **Ask AI**.

## Peek <sup>Beta</sup>

Peek watches the board and suggests ideas while you work. Turn it on above Dia's message box.

In **Peek settings**, set the project's **Goal** and how often it can interrupt:

* **Quiet**: only when you're idle.
* **Subtle**: now and then, when you're idle.
* **Proactive**: often, even while you work.

Click **Apply suggestion** to accept one.
